Attacking the swing latch on commercial doors and ignoring the lock is a powerful and very fast bypass method. Often exploited by Law enforcement and Fire Fighters, this quick entry method works by manoeuvring the tool into the door jam and up into the actual mechanism of the lock. It follows the side of the swing latch and hooks onto one of the pivots inside the locks housing. With a sharp pull the tool unlocks the "swing latch" in a very similar manner to how the lock does it. The only difference is the Short shot pulls the latch down at the pivot point and the lock pushes it down
